Matamata Air Show

Posted by Ceara Smyth TCRG on March 12, 2010 at 8:58 PM Comments comments (1)

OK, so the air show this morning was epc BUT FRICKEN AMAZING!!!!!!!!

We had alot of fun! The dancers who participated were: Ceara, Lillie, Keely, Olivia, Makayla, Georgina, Siobhan, Grace and Niamh.

It startedepic because Keely got lost and the carload of dancers was late BUT they were running late anyway, and another act was put on before us instead of after so it worked out great!

Our first dance display was great, we got through it wonderfully! there were a few hiccups with the music, but that got sorted and we were away laughing! It went down really well, but Niamh definately got the most applause!

After the dancing we had a break, a wander and a chill out, most of us watched the fashion show, and we all had loos of hot chips and cie creams etc, all good!!!! Ceara even got a DC3 keyring asa momento!

After that we all went and got back into Solo costume, and went for some photos with the actual planes, no pilots though :-(....... sigh........ lol........ it was hilarious cos all sorts of random people were also taking photos of us, that's how awesome we looked!!!

The second dance display went off without a hitch.... well almost...... it was actually AWESOMELY GREAT right up until the last dance, hen Ceara decided to practise the "slip" jig for real, and quite literally faceplanted on the grass, it would have been epic, exept she got right up and ;laughed then kept going....... apart from a grass stain on her dress, a sore neck and a bit of a headache which didn't last ong, no harm done, but it will make for a great story........

We all left pretty quickly after that though, because there's more fun and excitiement to come!!!!

Thanks to eryone who came today, it was an awesome day and we really were amazing!!!!!!

St Pat's timetable :-)

Posted by Ceara Smyth TCRG on March 11, 2010 at 6:28 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello

Well Sti. Patrick's Day is nearly upon us! Here's a list of what we are doing and what you need :-)

What I need is to know EXACTLY who is going to what, I will have the sign up sheets in class today and on Monday, if your name is not on the list, you won't be dancing. Sorry to be tough, it's just important that I know who's going to be there so I can have enough adult/teenage supervision

and so that I don't lose anyone.

These have been all been confirmed:

Biddy's - We are all to meet NO LATER than 6:45am, and you MUST stay until 9am, if you are going to school after, that is fine, but I can't have anyone leaving early or a few will be left to do all the dancing, and that's hard on them. We will stop dancing at 8:45, have photos and get changed, and you will be permitted to leave at 9am. You will need Solo dress, black sotckings and dance shoes, no trainers. Wig if you have one, otherwise hair in half up half down. If you do not have a solo, we MIGHT have one you can borrow, but bring your riverdance dress in case.

Ceara's Work: I will be selecting a small group of dancers to go up to my work for photo ops and so you can do a little dance and throw some Irish junk over people. Anyone who has the day off school will probably be doing this, but it is VERY IMPORTANT that you are well behaved and quiet due to the nature of the centre. You will remain in SOLO costume for this.

Chartwell: Our first dancing will be at 10:30am, so we will pretty much go straight from Ceara's work to there. We will dance for 30 mins, then we will take a break, and dance again at 1pm for 30 mins (same running order etc). I need to know who is doing this so I can do a running order, as they require our music on CD. You will be in Riverdance dress with black tights and half up/half down hair (no wigs). Also, no trainers, only proper shoes.

Celtic Connextions: meet here at 2pm for the traditional chill out with pizza. We will commence dancing outside at 3pm, and will be dancing for 1 hour, exactly the same as at biddy's, it will be a case of everyone lining up outside and cycling through, no mucking around please. As it will be hot (hopefully) everyone needs to be in their black gear, this means plain black top or leotard, no writing UNLESS IT IS YOUR SCHOOL TOP, plain black shorts or skirt, and white socks, as if you were at class. I am considering whether or not to let you wear denim shorts, but I haven't decided yet, so make sure you have something black in your dance bag. I will permit trainers here, providing they are black.

Biddy's again: if you are 16 or over, you are invited to go back to Biddy's, we will meet there at 6pm, have some obligatory hot chops and then dance with the band until approx 8pm, maybe 9pm at the latest. I will also have a CD of recorded music for us to dance to between the afternoon and evening bands. You will be required to wear riverdance dress, stockings, hard shoes and NO WIG.

There is also a Ceili, we have not been asked to dance there, but I know some of the adults were planning to go for some fun and group dancing, anyone is welcome to go to this, Ingrid from Adult class has all the details if you are interested :-)

These have not been confirmed, if not confirmed by this evening, we will not be going ahead with them, but let me know if you are keen:

Live TV Broadcast with Hair of the Dog - Sean from the band has asked if 3 or 4 seniors can go and dance with them, this will be for morning TV i believe, and he just wants a couple hor hard shoe reel formations with the band, I

Maeroa Lodge Rest Home - would possably like 6-8 dancers, of any age, in solo costume, to go and dance their around lunch time. More details if confirmed :-)

so yes, that is us :-)

if you have any questions, feel free to email me.

If you recieved this email as a forward from me, then you need to go wo www.ngirishdance.com and sign up now :-)

Looking forward to it!!!!!!
